Balanco continues to grow in Finland through the acquisition of the Finnish accounting firm Accotilit Oy, based in Tampere. The acquisition adds 17 employees to Balanco and strengthens the Group’s expertise in Microsoft Business Central and Mepco.
Accotilit was founded in 1990 and has experienced stable and profitable growth in recent years. For 2026, the company’s pro forma revenue amounts to approximately EUR 1.6 million.
A key driver behind the acquisition is the rapid technological development within the accounting industry. Automation and AI are transforming both the work of financial professionals and customer expectations, while investments in competitive technology solutions require increasingly significant resources.
“Accotilit is a profitable and growing company that combines strong expertise, high service quality and a people-focused culture. Their expertise in Business Central and Mepco complements our existing strengths and strengthens our ability to meet our customers’ increasingly complex needs”, says Mikko Marttunen, CEO of Balanco Group.
For Accotilit, it was equally important to fins a partner with a similar approach to people and corporate culture.
“Balanco convinced us through its openness, integrity and modern approach to the development of financial services. Although Balanco is a larger international group, it still fells close-knit and people-oriented. It was important for us to find a partner that takes good care of its employees and creates new opportunities as the industry continues to evolve”, says Varpu Ihalainen, CEO of Accotilit.
For employees, joining an international group creates new opportunities to develop their expertise as the role of financial professionals continues to evolve. Accotilit’s key personnel will remain active in the company while also becoming minority shareholders in Balanco.
Initially, Accotilit will continue to operate as separate entity, supported by Balanco’s shared expertise and resources. The acquisition will not result in any internal reorganisations.
With the acquisition, Balanco’s operations in Finland reach a scale that allows the focus to shift from further acquisitions toward integrating the
companies within the Group and developing common ways of working and operating models.
Balanco is a Nordic advisory and accounting group operating in several countries, with focus on digitalization, automation, and AI-driven financial services.
